China's intellectual propert✔§£y environment made substantial progres ✔£s

Recently, the American Chamber of Cσ±§ommerce Global Intellectuaσ♥l Property Center (GIPC) released £the 2018 International Intellectual P®♥roperty Index Report. The report shows:× ← China ranked 25th in 50 economies wφλ φith 19.08 points, up 2 places from→ε 2017.
The report carried out the intellectu'ε♣al property protection of 50 econom₹÷φies worldwide in 40 areas, coveri&>↔™ng 8 aspects including patents, copyri±•→ghts, trademarks, trade secrets,&±$≤ commercialization of intellectual pr ≈∏≠operty rights, law enforcement∑< <, system efficiency, Ωγε§international treatiesδ∞βφ on accession and ratification Evalu∏•ation. The United States '¥↑ranked the first in the world wi ¥©th a score of 37.98 for the'©© 6th consecutive year. However, th¥ εe United States further outperformed ✔$its counterparts in other cou€ ₽↓ntries in terms of leading p£βε♣osition, only 0.01 points higher thaσ$×n the UK with the second place"β£, and 2 places in the ranking of ↑™≠patent indicators, Ranking No. 12.
Among the eight broad cate£α gories of indicators≈, China ranks higher in↕↕≠® terms of system efficiency§✔ (No. 16), patent related rights and re♠$₹strictions (No. 20). The rankings∏™©✘ on the two categories of tradem•∑ark-related rights and restrict¥'δπions (No. 29) and intell&ectual property enforcement (No. £ €32) have improved over≤€ the previous year. In term♦>s of patent indicators in p&₩₽articular, the score improved ≤®★from 5.5 points in the ₹previous year to 5.5 •☆<↕points (a total of 8 points), includin¥✔εg the period of patent protection, >↓the patentability of comσ£puter-related invent£ ☆ions, the legislative standards ¶ €for patent products a✔®nd technical compulsory §÷©$licenses, Patent sub-e'™↑↓xamination highway (PPH) cooΩ✔γperation mechanism and oth <↕er four sub-indicators were sc$ored. Other eligibility indica <λ×tors include the duration of trademarφ✘k protection, the tranγ>★±sparency of enforcement o♣f customs intellectual pro£₹∏δperty rights, cooperation in enfo'≤rcement of intellectual property righσλts, education, training and "¥ εawareness raising, and the a♥ε<ccession to and ratification of$←₩ international conventions s£♠φ€uch as the World Intellectual Proper>ε ty Organization (WIPO).
The report believes that C ∞☆hina is making substantiv↕ δe progress in building☆& an intellectual property e∑¶'nvironment for the 21st ce™✔☆ntury. First, reform in the areas o♣®☆←f patents and copyrights h∞÷¥as strengthened the protect÷↕¥ion and enforcement effect. Second, g¶↓Ω•overnments at all le♠ ✘✘vels and law enforcement agenciesוγ pay more attention to intellectual£ property Third, the intellectual p×↕↑roperty awareness and utiliza<"©tion ability of research inst≈∏♥ itutions and individu✔™¶als have been significantly improv₽γ↕<ed. The report also poiβ↓nted out that China §≥ still lags behind the c∞¶☆onstruction of the int₽♣₹✔ellectual property envir ™¶onment, mainly includin"★g barriers to market♠±≈₹ access and commercialization of intσ↕&ellectual property.
In addition, the analysis fo✘'und that the report embodi ∑☆&ed a strong expression of appeals. ¶♠As the largest commerc∏≠ial alliance in the world, the Americ©→an Chamber of Commerce ←™represents the interests of more ¥±∏than 3 million enterprise±ε≠s, chambers of commerce anΩ•d industry associations in the United ♦&•States. Among them, the large ph∞armaceutical companies dominate. Th¥πα¥erefore, the report on the indicator↓÷ $s set and evaluation, the protecti≠₽on of pharmaceuticals account γ•↑↕for a large proportion. For exα£←ample, the report considers that"♥ China has taken such measures as de∑epening the reform of examinatio×↔n and approval system↓↕∏↔, deepening the policy documents on e≈ncouraging the innovation of ph↕∞₹armaceutical medical devices, anβd expanding the scope δ of the protection of experimental≠¥ data on drugs, playing an iφ•"mportant role in the risi ♦♦ng ranking of China's index.
It is learned that the U.S. Chamber of §€®∏Commerce has released the reβport of the International Intelle₩≥€ctual Property Index for sγ♥ix consecutive years $↓since 2013, providing a reference a↔₽∏nd a measure of influence on§↑'$ the global environment for intell ₽ectual property.
